Road Rage.. YOU BET YOUR ASS!!!

In this day and age of civil rights infringements, corrupt cops and corrupt politicians is it any wonder people are angry?

Yesterday, on my home from work, I was pacing a cop who was travelling his/her usual 90mph "what laws?" speed up the road. I saw the cop pull up behind somebody in the fast lane and tailgate them for several thousand yards before pulling over into the slow lane and passing them on the right to continue on their high speed drive home. The few, the special, the cops.

Rider Factories

A friend and I were riding not long ago. We were following some fat white haired misfit riding an overpriced "custom" cookie cutter hog with no rear suspension and a rear tire wider than the Mississippi. His style is his own choice, I won't begrudge him that. The thing that set off the dweeb alarm in my head was the way he was riding. As a car approached from the opposite direction, he moved clear over to the far right hand side of the road and even crossed the white line. At first, I thought he was pulling over to allow my friend and I to pass. But that wasn't the case. He was simply moving over as far as he could to avoid the car approaching him, even though the car was clearly in it's own lane and not posing much of a threat to us. After the car passed, he moved to the very center of the road and stuck like glue to the yellow line.. well, more like a weaving wandering string of glue. He repeated the manuever with every passing car. I would have really like to pass him, but I was afraid of what his next move might be, so I stayed put to watch the freak show. Then when he turned off the road, he almost came to a complete stop and was afraid to lean his bike over to negotiate the turn. All I could do was shake my head and watch the once proud tradition of motorcycling be soiled by this incompetent asshat.

The Most Important Piece of Safety Gear? What Did You Say?

While ear plugs may not be able to save you from a life threatening injury, they can sure go a long way to helping you maintain an enjoyable life. If you ride on the street at speeds greater than 40mph, then you should be wearing ear plugs. The noise inside most helmets at 60mph is greater than 100db, if you are like me and spend most of your time over 100mph, then the noise in your helmet can be up near 115db. That's louder than the straight through glass pack on your crotch rocket or the drag pipes on your hog. Most of you probably don't even notice. Next time you are out, actually pay attention to the wind noise. Quite loud isn't it? Over time, your hearing will be damaged. How much time? Measurable damage can occur after 15 mins at 115db and after 60 mins at 100db.
