The staff here at pegmonkey are great believers in freedom, especially the constitutional kind, but most importantly, the real kind that even precedes the Constitution. One of the best ways to protect your freedom is to have the ability to defend yourself against those who will try and take that freedom away from you. Be it using threat of violence to take your property, life or just plain threatening to hurt you, there is no better understood form of defense than a very large bore firearm. Why do you think it's the criminals tool of choice for intimidation? Do you think they want to use something that's cute and cuddly? Ok, now I'm sure the pansies and faint of heart are thinking now... "Why not just take the guns away from the criminals.. from everybody for that matter?" Hmm well, it's working real good for DRUGS NOW ISN'T IT? If the government can't take drugs away from people, then what chance do they have of taking guns away? You think a ban on guns is going to get rid of them, or keep them out of criminal hands? DREAM ON!!! (and for the record, NO I am not for the "war" on drugs) As long as there is metal and something explosive, people will make guns, authorized or not.
