New Years Ride.. The fat bastard gets a clue.

So, did you go on your new years day ride? If you did and you're anything like me, then you probably noticed how slow and fat you had gotten. It's a real wake up call. If you don't want to be fat and slow come spring time, then now is the time to buckle down and do what needs to be done.

I myself seem to have gained about 35 pounds since August. Hmmm I wonder how that could've happened. Turkey is supposed to be good for you right? I'm proof that a high protein diet won't necessarily work. Now it's time to pay for all that bingeing.

It'll be worth it though. There's nothing like being able to ride all day and not feel like I'm killing myself. I highly recommend that anybody that needs to, buckles down and gets in shape. You will be amazed at the speed and endurance you will gain. Many people spend lots of money and time making their bikes light. If you are carrying 10 or more extra pounds around on your person, then it's much cheaper to lose the extra weight from your person. It's not hard to do either. It's not very comfortable to diet. It's so much nicer just to eat what we want when we want it. But with a little willpower and self control, you can get in shape.

If You want to increase your performance even further, then throw in some aerobics and some weight training. Run a mile and half or more at least three times a week, and in a month you will be able to ride hard all day long.

Start now, and in three months when riding season starts, you'll be the envy of your friends. What else do you have to do all winter?
